artsafe creates custom built cases for art and
artefacts for private clients and institutions.

artsafe meets the needs of art and artists. Whether it be museum standard international touring cases, development and construction of exhibition elements, condition reporting or artwork handling, David has worked personally with artists, conservators and curators to cater to the needs of the exhibits.

David Roberts has only recently adopted the name artsafe but has been working within the Tasmanian arts community since 2000. Clients and installation locations vary from state and national institutions to individual Tasmanian galleries and artists.

The case pictured below was commissioned in 2005 by the State Library of Tasmania, for the National Library of Australia's "National Treasures" touring exhibition and has travelled over 18000 km.

The exterior is battered and bruised by manual and forklift handling over 18 months of air and road transport to every Australian capital city. Inside all is pristine and as new; the artwork was fully protected.
